Stupid Scenes I Would Never Ever Want To See Again

Mulawin

Palpak si Pagaspas

Pagaspas was about to kill Siklab. Daragit hostaged Lourdes, Pagaspas's foster mother. Daragit threatened to kill Lourdes. Pagaspas gave in. Another stupid move by a hero. Daragit did not free his hostage. Instead, he had all the Mulawins captured and killed by sunrise.

Pagaspas was in a company of a bunch of Mulawins. They outnumbered the Ravenas. It could have been a win for the Mulawins. But the Mulawins just stood there and did nothing. Pagaspas could have hostaged Siklab and dealt with Daragit with a kaliwaan deal. Free their hostages at the same time.

Or, the so-called sugo Almiro was there. He could have made a heroic move but he did not. Puede naman siyang lumipad pataas, then slain the ravenas from behind.

Bi-Polar Si Almiro

Gabriel decided to save Avila. Like band of brothers, Gabriel and Almiro together fought the Ravenas even if their races are enemies. After all, they were like father and son when Almiro was young.

Then Almiro learned that Gabriel had something to do with the death of Alwina - Almiro's mother. With rage, Almiro tried to kill Gabriel. While they were fighting, Siklab found an opportunity to kill them both. When Siklab was about to kill Almiro, Gabriel intervened. Gabriel and Siklab ended both with a stab.

Almiro poured his tears for Gabriel who was dying.

Anong nangyari kay Almiro? Ganun-ganon na lang. Pabago-bago ng emotion. Parang bi-polar.

Almiro could have discovered about Alwina's death later. Hayaan munang ma-establish yung pagkakasundo nina Almiro at Gabriel. Then, saka na lang mag-away once nalaman ni Almiro ang katotohanan.

Rosalinda

"Rosalinda", a Filipino adaptation of a Mexican novel of the same title, premiered last night. Compared to other telenovelas that GMA produced, the Rosalinda premiere is a mediocre. When the Pinoy adaptation of "Marimar" premiered on TV, it glued me to my seat. The elements that I look for in a movie for TV satisfied my creative palate. The "Rosalinda" premier did not have those ingredients. It wasn't worth to be called the director's cut. On the other hand, how the story will evolve will make an audience follow the series. Anyway, there's still room for improvement. Let's see how "Rosalinda" blooms in the telly.

Here are the scenes that I consider "gasgas na" that I wouldn't want to see ever again in a film or soap.
  1. "Alfredo, a lawyer, shot Fernando Jose dead. He suffered seizure afterwards. Soledad, Alfredo's secretary, approached him and took the gun from Alfredo's hand." I've seen this kind of scene a hundred times, I suppose. Maybe, there's a way not to do it again. Why would a legal secretary do something stupid? There must be clever way to make Soledad the alleged murderer.
  2. "Alfredo was walking, pre-occupied. A vehicle was seen approaching." This scene was very predictable. The preparation of the vehicle coming means that Alfredo would be hit by it. If I had to do the scene, I will make it a surprise. "All of a sudden, there was a loud screech. Alfredo was hit by a car." Just like that. That would create an impact and stir a wide-eyed-jaw-dropped reaction from the audience.
  3. "A fellow inmate, a bad one, hit Soledad. Soledad bled. She's pregnant." Enough of this type of scene. It is unnecessary.
There's on good scene, though. After giving birth to her baby, Soledad felt love for her child.

Hating Kapatid: GMA Network's Short Film For Christmas

"Hating Kapatid" is a touching short film about two brothers who share the same pair of shoes and socks when going to school. One attends classes in the morning; the other in the afternoon. They meet in one store owned by an old woman where they exchange their footwear.

Endless Love - A Filipino Adaptation of Autumn in My Heart

Courtesy pinoyhalo.com "Autumn in My Heart" is a Korean TV series. When GMA Network aired it on Philippine TV, it started a trend. Pinoys went gaga over Koreanovelas. GMA renamed the characters as Jenny, Johnny, and Andrew. The three Korean stars became popular in their character names rather than in their Korean screen names. GMA7 also gave it a new title - "Endless Love" - for the reason that there's no autumn in the Philippines. Today premieres once again Autumn in my Heart aka Endless Love but this time as a Filipino adaptation starring Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Dennis Trillo. Three superstars in one show! It's surely a hit. If I were to rewrite some scenes in Autumn In My Heart In general, I enjoyed the pilot episode of Autumn In My Heart. I particularly like the scene where young Johnny and Jenny ride their bicycles on a long brick road fenced with bougainvilla bushes. I give praise to whoever found that place. The school location w

"Mahal Kita"

Here's another favorite song. "Mahal Kita", which means "I love you" was composed by Danny Tan. The original version was sung by Gerald Santos, Pinoy Pop Superstar grand champion of 2006. The female version was sung by Maricris Garcia, Pinoy Pop Superstar grand champion of 2007. The song is included in Gerald's first album "A Day on the Rainbow". The song is currently the love theme song of "Marimar", a Philippine remake of the Mexican tele-novela with the same title. In the Philippine version, Marian Rivera plays Marimar; Dingdong Dantes plays the the role of Sergio Santibanez. In Marimar, the female version is a response to the male version of the song. In dramatic scenes that focus on either Marimar's (Marian) or Sergio's (Dingdong) emotions, you'll either hear Gerald's or Maricris's version. "Marimar" is currently showing weeknights on GMA Channel 7. Here's Gerald's version of "Mahal Kita&q
