Atlantika: A Fantasy TV Series

Atlantika is GMA-7's newest primetime offering, the most ambitious and phenomenal production according to the network. Most ambitious in a sense that part of the scenes are shoot underwater. Truly, in the making of Atlantika, Marissa Floirendo doing the underwater cinematographic shoots is enough to impress televiewers to watch this tele-fantasy series.

Water or underwater production is expensive. The movie "Waterworld" [Kevin Costner] is an example. I yet have to find out how much was spent in this movie. In American TV, "The Man from Atlantis" [Patrick Duffy] was a hit in the 80's. It is in this series where viewers saw a new form of swimming underwater -- the wave; and Patrick was very good at it. Since then, all other sea characters in movies followed the same swimming technique.

I wish that Atlantika becomes a phenomenon too as Encantadia did. To date, Encantadia holds the title of the most phenomenal TV series. In the reality-TV genre, Starstruck 1 is the most phenomenal. In the Pilipino-dubbed Korean TV series category, "Jewel in the Palace" is the most phenomenal making "Endless Love 1" second. "Marimar" is the most phenomenal in the "Pilipino-dubbed Latino series" category.

GMA renamed the characters as Jenny, Johnny, and Andrew. The three Korean stars became popular in their character names rather than in their Korean screen names. GMA7 also gave it a new title - "Endless Love" - for the reason that there's no autumn in the Philippines. Today premieres once again Autumn in my Heart aka Endless Love but this time as a Filipino adaptation starring Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Dennis Trillo. Three superstars in one show! The Final 5 Before The Twist Lovely performed well that night but she was eliminated. On the other hand, Nomer was too young for "Bohemian Rhapsody". It was just right if he was eliminated based on that night's performance. So, the final Five were Jensen, Lirah, So Wat, Krizza, and Kenneth. Based on the group's performance, So Wat could have been eliminated but text votes saved them. The Twist That Saved Lovely and Nomer The twist was to call back the 5 Protégés who were earlier eliminated. The five contenders battled for a second chance. As a result, Nomer and Lovely were called back. The next night was a double elimination night. The seven Protégés performed well that night except for So Wat.
