Magic is in the Air


Majika - the latest tele-fantasy series being offered by GMA7 looks promising with a star-studded cast headed by Angel Locsin (Mulawin, Darna) and Dennis Trillo (Mulawin, Darna, Etheria). Based on teasers, the new series combines storylines from Narnja and Harry Potter. Compared to Encantadia and Etheria, this new series will be less violent for it targets a younger audience. So far, the costumes are good but not as impressive as those of Encantadia/Etheria. The hair make-up of Eddie Garcia and Eddie Gutierrez needs improvement because it's very obvious that they are wearing fake hair. Their long hair should look like its really growing from their head. They should take note of the hair of Legolas (Orlando Bloom) in Lord of the Rings. Legolas' hair looked credible with Orlando Bloom.

Let's wait and see how this new TV series will hit the ratings and how it will fair with Encantadia/Etheria.

Dyesebel Learns the Truth

Week 2 Episodes The next episodes after the first week were not as exciting as the first few days. In a few words, I can give you the synopsis. Dyesebel was able to save Fredo and hid him inside a cave. Bukanding (Paolo Ballesteros), her foster brother, persuaded her to go home for fear of the queen's punishment. Back to the cave, they found out that Fredo was bitten by a sea snake. Dyesebel left to look for cure. While she was gone, Berbola found Fredo inside the cave. She, too, fell in love with Fredo. In Sireneya, the queen learned about mermaids swimming up to the shore (which is forbidden). The queen had them hunted. Erebus (Alfred Vargas) warned Dyesebel and Bukanding that they were able to leave the cave and went to a shore where Fredo recovered. Berbola pointed at Dyesebel as the mermaid who violated the law. Dyesebel was sentenced to death; but Erebus told the queen that Berbula, too, was guilty of the same crime. The queen could not sentence her daughter Berbula to death....

Endless Love - A Filipino Adaptation of Autumn in My Heart

Courtesy pinoyhalo.com "Autumn in My Heart" is a Korean TV series. When GMA Network aired it on Philippine TV, it started a trend. Pinoys went gaga over Koreanovelas. GMA renamed the characters as Jenny, Johnny, and Andrew. The three Korean stars became popular in their character names rather than in their Korean screen names. GMA7 also gave it a new title - "Endless Love" - for the reason that there's no autumn in the Philippines. Today premieres once again Autumn in my Heart aka Endless Love but this time as a Filipino adaptation starring Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Dennis Trillo. Three superstars in one show! It's surely a hit. If I were to rewrite some scenes in Autumn In My Heart In general, I enjoyed the pilot episode of Autumn In My Heart. I particularly like the scene where young Johnny and Jenny ride their bicycles on a long brick road fenced with bougainvilla bushes. I give praise to whoever found that place.
